"The Lib Dems, including myself, have been unequivocal about the need for an immediate bilateral ceasefire to prevent the further destruction of Gaza, and the unimaginable loss of live, particularly children.

The Lib Dems were one of the first Parties to call for an immediate bilateral ceasefire so that there is time to facilitate the delivery of aid into Gaza, the opportunity to release the hostages, and provide space to intensify diplomatic efforts to rid Palestine of Hamas, bring about lasting peace, and a two state solution. There can be no peace without recognising Palestine as an independent State.

The Liberal Democrats are an internationalist party, one that believes in the international rules based order. We believe in the independence of the ICC and that justice should be allowed to prevail, without fear or favour. I hope that goes some way to addressing your concerns. I also hope that you recognise that regardless of who wins the next General Election, whether it be Labour or Tories, we need strong opposition voices to hold the Government to account. That is why I hope you would consider voting for me on the 4th July, to give Islington a strong progressive voice in Parliament."

He also added:

Again, in line with our obligations and commitments to international law, we, the Lib Dems and I, agree with a ban on the import of goods *and* going further sanctions for the facilitation of trade by Israeli extremist settler leaders, such as National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.
