"The situation in Gaza is deeply concerning.  I very much endorse the views of the Lib Dem MP Layla Moran, who is herself of Palestinian heritage and who has lost relatives in the conflict since October 7th.  You can read an interview she gave to the New Statesman in February here https://www.newstatesman.com/encounter/2024/02/layla-moran-hope-gaza-war

On UNRWA specifically, the Lib Dem peer Baroness Janke has asked questions of ministers in the House of Lords, which you can read at https://www.theyworkforyou.com/wrans/?id=2024-01-31.HL2081.h&s=refugees  The answer she received was not very satisfactory.

In April, Ed Davey called on the government to suspend arms sales to Israel https://www.libdems.org.uk/press/release/aid-worker-deaths-davey-calls-on-government-to-suspend-arms-sales-to-israel

The Lib Dem manifesto includes the following commitments

• Advocating for an immediate bilateral ceasefire in the Israel-Gaza conflict, recognising that there is no military solution to remove Hamas from Gaza.
• Leading a diplomatic push towards a two-state solution in Israel and Palestine based on 1967 borders, to deliver the security and dignity that Israelis and
Palestinians deserve.
• Officially recognising the independent state of Palestine with immediate effect.

I hope all of those examples show you that the Lib Dems are doing what we can to draw attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and to try to improve the situation.  The current UK government has not done nearly enough to try and help, and unfortunately the Labour party does not seem to want to act either."
