Caabu has carried out a seriies of opinion polls over the years. Its very foundation came after an opinion poll found in 1967 that 98% of the British public claimed to know little or nothing about the Middle East.

The latest YouGov poll commissioned by Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) and the Council for Arab-British Understanding (Caabu) shows a huge majority, 73% of the British public, believe that the UK government should oppose US President Trump’s proposal to remove the Palestinian population of Gaza to other countries and make it American territory. This poll comes as the Prime Minister Keir Starmer is about to meet President Trump in the White House on 27 February where talks on the Middle East are likely to be on the agenda. 

84% of British public says that ICC arrest warrants must be respected – 7 August 2024

An overwhelming majority of the British public, 84 per cent, believe that if the International Criminal Court (ICC) issues an arrest warrant, the British authorities should arrest that person if they enter British jurisdiction, according to a YouGov poll (see full results at the bottom) commissioned by the Council for Arab-British Understanding (Caabu) and Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP). 

New poll shows sustained British public support for immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the suspension of UK arms sales to Israel - 17 May 2024

This latest poll, conducted after six months of intensifying humanitarian crisis in Gaza, found that 55% of people support the UK ending the sale of arms to Israel for the duration of the conflict in Gaza.

Opinion poll shows overwhelming British public support for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza10 January 2024

The survey conducted on 20-21 December 2023 found that 71% of the British public believe there definitely (48%) or probably (23%) should be an immediate ceasefire in Israel and Palestine. Conversely, only 12% of people felt that there should definitely not (6%) or probably not (6%) be an immediate ceasefire.
