Caabu Board member Rt Hon Alistair Carmichael MP raises Khan Al Ahmar with Prime Minister

Caabu remains deeply concerned that the Israeli government will go ahead with the destruction Khan Al-Ahmar villages and forcible transfer of Palestinian Bedouin communities.  It would constitute a grave breach of international humanitarian law and according to the UN, be a war crime.

Caabu has recieved a response to an email sent on 11 July on Southern Syria from Foreign Office and Department for International Development (DFID) minister Alistair Burt.

UK Parliamentarians who have been on delegations with Caabu, including to Palestinian medical facilities, have written to the Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt about the plight of women with cancer in Gaza being refused permits by Israel to leave tor receive life saving treatment.

Caabu's parliamentary Chair Rt Hon David Jones MP (Conservative) and board members Rt Hon Alistair Carmichael MP (Liberal Democrat) and Paula Sherriff MP (Labour) have written to the Home Secretary Sajid Javid about Yemeni journalist Ahmed Baider being denied a visa to the UK to receive vital hostile environment training through the support of the Rory Peck Trust. They call on the Home Secretary to reconsider Ahmed Baider's case and grant him a visa.

In both an Urgent Question on the Palestinian Bedouin community of Khan al Ahmar and in International Development Questions, British MPs called for urgent action not words to stop its impending demolition and forcible transfer, and other such communities in Area C of the West Bank.

Caabu and other leading agencies call on countries to set way to identify users of banned weapon

100 UK Parliamentarians have written to the Israeli Ambassdor to the UK Mark Regev, calling on him to stop the demolition and forcible transfer of the Palestinian community of Khan al Ahmar. The letter was sent by Richard Burden MP, Chair of the Britain-Palestine All Party Parliamentary Group. 25 UK Parliamentarians also signed an open letter published in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz calling the forcible transfer of Khan al Ahmar a war crime.
