Andrew Gilmour CMG worked for the United Nations for 30 years, including in many parts of the Middle East. From 2016-19, he was the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights. From 2020 to early 2025 he was head of the Berghof Foundation in Berlin. In 2024 he published a book, The Burning Question: Climate and Conflict – why does it matter? In 2020 he was made a Visiting Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford.
