Caabu condemns the killing of Syrian archaeologist Khaled Asaad
20 August 2015
In a wide range of interviews in the international media, Caabu Director Chris Doyle has condemned the brutal killing on 18 August of Khaled Asaad, the Syrian archaeologist and the man who used to run the ancient ruins and museum at Palmyra.
Doyle told the Times newspaper that “He was an archaeologist and not politically active. I spoke to one person in Palmyra who said it was because of his huge knowledge of Palmyra that Isis saw him as the ticket to discovering what might be left of any treasures they could sell.”
Chris also was quoted on ITV News at Ten on 19 August.
