‘Palestinian Statehood? Security Implications for the Region’

This conference will assess the impact that the Arab Spring has had on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.  In turn it will look at the effect of the conflict on the Middle East, the implications for multilateral and supranational institutions, the security concerns of Israel and the Palestinian territories, the viability of a Palestinian state and the likelihood of future fruitful negotiations between the two sides.

Taking place on 7 September, this RUSI conference will bring together officials from the UK, US, Israel and the Palestinian territories, as well as policy analysts and academics who will seek to address the broader strategic uncertainties that might emanate as a result of any declaration of independence.
