Caabu offices closed due to Coronavirus

Dear Members and supporters,

We hope that you and your loved ones are all safe and are able to cope in these difficult times.

The Arab-British Centre has closed as of Wednesday 18 March so Caabu will not be holding any events until further notice.  Parliament has also wisely imposed restrictions on external visitors as well.

Caabu staff will continue to work from home.  I am extremely grateful to them for their diligence and huge efforts in what are extremely tough circumstances. We hope to be able to continue to deliver members the digest of daily news from the British press every working day though nothing is guaranteed.

We are also maintaining close contact with partners on the ground in the region including in areas we fear are highly vulnerable such as Syria, Lebanon and Palestine. We are urging the British government to do all it can to improve coordination with these countries and internationally, and to assist in whatever way that it can.

Sadly, we can no longer carry out school workshops and assemblies either. We are looking at ways to deliver these online.

In the meantime, please everyone stay safe.

Chris Doyle
Caabu Director
