Syria crisis at six years - Reports and articles

It has been six years since the start of the Syria crisis, another bleak milestone in this dreadful conflict. On 14 march Caabu and Human appeal hosted a joint event to mark the six years hosted by Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.  The speakers included Crispin Blunt, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee; Lord Dubs, the leading campaigner on refugee rights; the award winning Syrian film-maker Wa'ad al Kataeb as well as Caabu Director, Chris Doyle and the CEO of Human Appeal Othman Moqbel.

Chris Doyle introduced the event by saying that “this is a crisis that will last more than another six years, because even if the fighting ends, the rebuilding, the reconciliation, the trauma, will continue.  In the 50 years of Caabu - that is right we were founded down below, in 1967 - Syria is perhaps the greatest crisis we have seen.”

The event launched this Human Appeal report on Syria which Caabu helped produce. Read more about the event here.

Chris Doyle also wrote about the six year anniversary for Arab News.
