Caabu launches UK election page

Caabu launches UK election page

With the UK General Election fast approaching (Thursday 7 May), Caabu has launched an election webpage focusing on party policy and candidates views on the Middle East. The page encourages you to get in touch with your local candidates to find out their views on the important issues facing the Arab world. Emails for candidates can be found here. We think it important that the electorate are able to find out what their candidates from all parties think about the resettlement of Syrian refugees, the recognition of Palestine, and human rights as a fundamental part of British foreign policy, to name a few examples.

There are four key sections to the UK election webpage:

1)      Write to your candidate. This section encourages all Caabu supporters to write to their election candidates and suggests five key questions to ask them.

2)      Political parties and the Middle East. This section summarises the views of the main political parties towards certain Middle Eastern issues, and offer a selection of important quotes from key figures from the parties, and from party manifestos.

3)      Correspondence with election candidates. This section details correspondence received from election candidates, including correspondence sent through by Caabu supporters.

4)      The election debates. This section updates readers on any comments made about the Middle East during the televised election debates.

Please contact Joseph Willits for any further information on Caabu's UK election page, and to forward any responses from candidates in the election. You can email ([email protected]), telephone (0207 832 1325) or get in touch through Twitter (@josephwillits).
